Middle East : UAE

What is happening?

The UAE attracts a significant number of Pakistani migrants seeking job opportunities and economic prosperity. While the country offers employment and a high standard of living, challenges related to labor rights, working conditions, and legal protections persist. The UAE’s economic growth and development are closely tied to the contributions of the diverse expatriate population, including Pakistanis. Yet the UAE offers no protection or guarantee of citizenship.

What must be done?

Advocacy efforts should focus on improving labor rights and working conditions for Pakistani migrants in the UAE. Collaborative initiatives involving governmental bodies, NGOs, and employers are essential. Strengthening legal frameworks to protect the rights of migrants, ensuring fair treatment, and creating avenues for professional growth are imperative to address the challenges faced by the Pakistani community in the UAE.
