<span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">What is happening?

India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh remain significant sources of migration, driven by economic disparities, population pressures, and regional opportunities. Internally, people migrate from rural to urban areas within these countries in pursuit of better livelihoods. Additionally, the Middle East, East Asia, and other regions attract migrants from South Asia. Countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Malaysia host a substantial number of South Asian migrants, contributing to economic activities in those regions.

<span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">What must be done?

Addressing migration in South Asia requires comprehensive strategies. Internally, policies should focus on rural development, job creation, and social welfare to reduce the push factors for migration. Externally, collaboration is needed to ensure the rights and well-being of South Asian migrants. The countries hosting these migrants should implement fair labor practices, provide access to legal protections, and foster social integration.
